Reasons Why I love Living In Australia

The first time I visited Sydney for work in 2007, I fell in love with the city straight away.  The sky was blue, the air was so fresh, the birds were so beautifully flying around the Sydney Opera House, and the people enjoyed their time in the nearby café with their friends. It was so different compared to the city in UAE where I resided for almost 17 years. At the moment, I thought one day I would move and live in this country.

Fast forward to 2023, here I am, a 42 year stay at home mum with a lovely Australian husband and 2 beautiful children aged 6 and 8 years old, living in the beautiful sunny Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Enjoy every moment of it and never regret that we have decided to move to this country.

After a few years of living in Australia, I realized that Australia lives up to its stereotype – Sun, fun, beaches, and friendly people everywhere. But it is so much more than that. With a rich history dating back 60,000 years, Australia offers a diverse mix of cultures from all over the world.

Australia is the perfect country for those who love to enjoy life but at the same time, want to live in an efficient and cutting-edge country. Known for its easy-going lifestyle, Australians find the perfect balance between efficient productive work-lives and fun-filled social lives with a strong focus on well-being!

The main cities offer all kinds of services, work, and leisure activities in a relaxed and spacious environment (population density is more than sustainable, even in the cities). The whole country has only 26 million people but is geographically as big as the whole of Europe. What’s more, the impressive beauty of Australian nature often surrounds towns and cities: beautiful beaches, an ocean within reach, and boundless spaces and landscapes that look like they’re from another world!

There are so many reasons why I love living in this country, here are the top main reasons:

• The lifestyle is laid-back and relaxed. Australians are known for their laid-back attitude, and this is reflected in the way they live their lives. There’s no need to rush around or stress about things. People are generally friendly and welcoming, and there’s a strong sense of community in most Australian towns and cities.
• The climate is warm and sunny. Australia is located in the Southern Hemisphere, so its seasons are the opposite of those in the Northern Hemisphere. This means that summer is from December to February, and winter is from June to August. The weather is generally warm and sunny all year round, with average temperatures ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius.
• The opportunities are endless. Australia is a young country with a growing economy. There are plenty of opportunities for people to get ahead in their careers, start their own businesses, or simply enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. The education system is world-class, and the healthcare system is one of the best in the world.
• The scenery is breathtaking. Australia is a vast country with a diverse range of landscapes. From the snow-capped peaks of the Australian Alps to the red deserts of the Outback, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and there are many other stunning natural wonders to explore.
• The people are friendly and welcoming. Australians are known for their friendly and welcoming nature. They’re always happy to help out a stranger, and they’re always up for a chat. This makes it easy to make new friends and feel at home in Australia.
• The food is delicious. Australian cuisine is a melting pot of cultures, with influences from all over the world. This means that there’s something for everyone to enjoy, from traditional Australian dishes like kangaroo steak and damper to international favorites like pizza and pasta.

• The healthcare system is one of the best in the world. Australia has one of the best healthcare systems in the world. It’s free at the point of use for Australian citizens and permanent residents, and it’s also very affordable for visitors.
